Being a Cashier at Goodwill-
Provide exceptional customer service while operating a cash register
Respond to phone and in-person inquiries
Stock the sales floor
Other duties may be assigned
What You Need to be Successful:
A great attitude, reliable, responsible and respectful
Previous experience or training as a cashier (what is our actual requirement?)
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
Ability to read and understand basic procedures and safety rules
Ability to efficiently and accurately operate a cash register
Ability to accurately count money and give change
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Meet the physical requirements of this job
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; and is able to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages.
Other Skills and Abilities: Familiarity with cash registers.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
