Generalist - Human Resources

The Human Resources Generalist plays an integral role in creating a positive employee experience.
Supporting core functions of Human Resources, including benefits, compliance, agency audits, onboarding, offboarding, and recruiting.
essential duties 1.
Manages onboarding process for new employees, including pre-employment requirements and processes, coordination with relevant parties, and processing enrollments in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
2.
Assist with recruiting responsibilities.
This includes posting positions, scheduling screening or panel interviews, and reviewing or sourcing resumes.
3.
Assist in processes such as the Annual Performance Review process, Performance Quality Improvement (PQI), Council on Accreditation (COA), relicensing, payroll/HR audits, DCYF (Department of Children, Youth, and Families) rosters and background checks, and assists with filing EEO-1 and OSHA reports annually.
4.
Ensure all employees have updated and current identification badges.
5.
Manages internal transfer and offboarding processes for current employees.

Monitor and respond to Human Resources email inbox.
Track employee sick notifications, employment verifications, and provides appropriate responses in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
Reports to Executive Leadership Team.

Assist with maintenance of Human Resources Information System (HRIS); troubleshoot user issues; compiles reports as needed.
8.
Manages and tracks FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), PFML (Paid Family and Medical Leave), and Unemployment processes, in compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.

Performs benefits enrollments, updates, and terminations; communicate benefits information to employees.

Review, track, and document compliance with professional licensure and continuing education and certifications.
11.
Assists with maintenance of employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
12.
Assist with reconciliation of benefit-related billing.
13.
Track and provide employee rewards, including anniversary gifts, acknowledgments, and bonus awards.
14.
Provides support to the Human Resources Manager on guidance to supervisors around polices and leave management.
15.
Participates in developing and improving department goals, processes, forms, and resources.
16.
Assists in the maintenance of HR department sections of SharePoint.

Assists with the Annual Performance Review process.

Education and Experience 1.
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
2.
Three years of experience in human resources or related field.
3.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal labor laws.
4.
Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems.
5.
Proficiency with office software such as MS Teams, Excel, and Word.
6.
Experience in a nonprofit environment preferred.
